A decent instant read thermometer with some quirks which could be a dealbreaker for some. Read below.

DISLIKES:
- bulkier than most thermometers
- plastic-y chassis which may be prone to cracking and breaking if dropped
- not 0.3s read, closer to 1-2s (not a huge deal in reality, plenty fast for almost all applications)
- ring/hoop is tiny so it's basically unusable
- extremely weak magnet (def cannot hang in vertical orientation against a fridge wall or anything, slides and falls down immediately. can hang horizontally underneath a horizontal surface but I still wouldn't trust it)

I can see the weak magnet being a dealbreaker for some, but overall this is a decent thermometer. The rotating display is handy but perhaps a bit too sensitive (and annoying) if you're moving it too much and the display flips on you unexpectedly.

Notes:
- Large LED display.
- Powered by 1 x AAA battery which is pre-installed. There's no plastic to remove to enable it, the thermometer comes ready to be used.
- Front panel has a lock button.
- Rear panel has a button to switch units between ��C and ��F. Single press and instant change.
- The display will automatically flip depending on the orientation.
- There is a magnet near the temperature switch button on the back to attach it to your fridge, but if your fridge is an enamel based textured surface, it'll just slide all the way down since it's so weak. This won't even work against a pure metal surface. It'll only work if you put it under something so that it cannot slide down, but don't bump it 'cuz it'll fly off.
- Features an auto-off feature of 1 minute after opening the probe. If you leave it still at the 1 minute mark, the display will shut off. To wake it up, just pick it up or tilt it and the display will automatically wake up.
- The thermometer can also be calibrated in case it is off by using an ice bath method. I found that out of the box, the readings were already accurate so I didn't need to calibrate it.
- In testing this, I noticed that the temperature probe is very sensitive, even while trying to take photos, the temperature fluctuated by 0.2��F quite frequently since the sun was heating up the room.
- According to the included manual, the temperature range it supports is between -58��F to 572��F and the resolution is 0.1��F.
- I checked the voltage of the battery and it was 1.60V.

This cooking thermometer accomplishes its primary purpose and appears to provide reasonably accurate temperature readings. The readings can be a little jumpy while stabilizing, but they generally settle on a consistent temperature after a few moments.

One feature I particularly like is the fold-out probe design. It helps protect the temperature needle when not in use and makes the thermometer easier to store safely in a drawer.

The probe is long enough for thicker cuts of meat and feels sturdy when folded out. It's also very sharp. The waterproof design is great because cleanup is easy, and I like that it uses a regular AAA battery.
A couple things could definitely be better though. The magnet is pretty weak and tends to slide down vertical surfaces like the side of a fridge.
For everyday cooking, this thing does the job really well. It's easy to use, easy to clean, accurate, and fast enough for basically anything you'd need in a home kitchen. Not perfect, but definitely a useful gadget that I've been happy to have around.

My previous meat thermometer decided to break (the probe can loose and exposed wires) so I decided to get this inexpensive thermometer and I'm glad I did. This meat thermometer is very easy to use: simply pull the probe out from the base and the unit will auto power on. You can change between C or F by a simple button press on the back of the unit. One nice little trick is that even if you have to rotate the thermometer 180 degrees, the digital display will flip so you can easily read the temperature. There is a table in the back.for recommended temps for various meats, and it comes with a single AAA battery.

However, I noticed when I did an ice bath test that the thermometer read a few degrees above freezing. I followed the instructions to calibrate that the thermometer that came with it, and it still did not calibrate correctly so it is about 2.2�� off or so from freezing, so I will have to keep that in mind when I'm testing my food. That was an unfortunate complication, but not all the thermometers are calibrated correctly and for the price this was, I'll just make the adjustment mentally. I wish it had a magnet so I could store it near my oven without having to put it into a drawer. But overall very impressed.

**Build Quality:** This is a decent thermometer with solid build quality. It doesn't feel super flimsy, and the retractable probe feels firm without being stiff to open and close.

**Function:** With respect to measuring temperature, I think it's quick and accurate, with a solid level of precision. My biggest complaint is the weakness of the magnet. It barely stays on our refrigerator, as it tends to slide down. You have to have a stronger magnet item underneath it to keep it from sliding down. It's just enough magnetism to hold it against the surface, but it's not strong enough to keep it from sliding down. Cleaning the probe is easy, as the tip is stainless steel and wipes off easily. The display itself is easy to read. Even though the magnet is on the weak side, it does have a loop where you can put it on a hook, so I don't think it's a deal killer on this. I think you're getting a good quality probe at a good price point.

This thermometer has become an indispensable basic in my kitchen. It is very practical to use. The screen reads very well thanks to the large and bright letters. The design is foldable.

I like that a thermometer has the big numbers because I can see with prediction at a distance the numbers and the size of the piece to introduce in the food is fine it is thick and easy to clean after I use it and it is of quality this is a good investment for my dessert sale that I need to measure the temperatures
